Jian Yuan Tan
Chief Executive Officer

Jian Yuan has served in relationship management and credit analysis roles across a number of institutions, including HSBC, ANZ, and SCB. Covering mid to large cap companies, both local and international. He has experience in cash management, trade, markets and investment products.

He joined LAM in 2016 as an Executive Director, where he was responsible for obtaining its Capital Markets Services Licence and growing its AUM in excess of S$800m. As CEO oversees the business, provides oversight on compliance, and aids the investment teams with opportunities.

Jian Yuan is on the investment and risk committees of LAM’s funds, which invest across a broad spectrum of asset classes ranging from, equities, private credit, private equity to venture capital. With investments across multiple geographies, including Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. He has been involved in the setup, structuring and management of over 50 funds.

He is a representative with MAS and is a registered director with CIMA.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Australia, majoring in Corporate Finance, and Money & Banking, with a minor in Business Law.

Chin Guan Tan
Chief Operating Officer

Chin Guan has over 11 years in fund accounting, with his last role as an associate director of a wholly owned Temasek Asset Manager.

He has a strong grounding in fund accounting and performance computation. He has good knowledge of credit and structured credit instruments, and has supported front, middle and back office requirements, while liaising with financial institutions and custodian banks relating to operational activities, and fund accounting issues/discrepancies.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (Honours) from the University of London.

Chuu Ming Tan
Senior Portfolio Manager

Chuu-Ming is a seasoned private equity (“PE”) professional with more than 20 years of industry experience, having worked in various private equity roles across several well-established institutions such as GIC Special Investments, Sycamore Ventures, Nomura International, Société Générale CIB and China Media Capital.

In addition to PE work, he had also led the Asia-Pacific M&A activities for IMS Health (now iQvia) for several years. Before joining LAM in 2022, Chuu-Ming was the MD for a single-family office in Hong Kong, where he led the investment team to evaluate, structure and execute private investments globally.

Over the course of his career, Chuu-Ming had advised and executed on deals value over US$1.5b, with strategies covering the entire PE spectrum from venture to growth capital and corporate carve-out

Chuu-Ming is a registered representative with MAS. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (2nd Upper Honours) from the National University of Singapore where he majored in Finance. In addition, he is also a CFA charter holder since 2013.

Mark Chow
Senior Portfolio Manager – IGIF2 & AGIF

Mark has close to 20 years of combined experience as a capital market professional in the area of Corporate Finance, Private Equity and Stockbroking.

He began his finance career as an Investment Analyst in Singapore preparing valuation reports on SGX-listed companies across various sectors. He then joined a PE firm’s business development team and was responsible for deal-sourcing, investment recommendations, post-acquisition integration, portfolio management and fundraising for the consumer & resources sectors with successful investments in Southeast Asia, USA, Australia and Europe.

He was director in a corporate finance advisory firm and was instrumental in building up the team, securing and completing IPO and M&A projects in various sectors including logistics, construction, industrials, consumer, in Singapore, Hong Kong and Germany.

He has also served as the CIO in a VC Fund where he was responsible for investments in revenue-generating growth companies, managing investment portfolio and assets, sourcing of investments, fund-raising, corporate governance and internal controls.

He holds a Master of Business Systems (MBS) & Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Economics) from Monash University, Melbourne Australia.

Marc Velan
Head of Investment Management

Marc Velan has more than 18 years of experience in the Financial industry. He built his entire investment career at Credit Suisse (“CS”) and held various positions in Fixed Income, Equity and Foreign Exchange advisory, trading and sales.

Since 2006, Marc has been based in Singapore. He was in charge of running investment portfolios of ultra-high net worth individuals and key clients of CS in South East Asia and the Middle East. This includes family offices, public sector companies, and corporates from various industries mainly in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. He has a passion for developing long-term investment strategies aided by a sharp financial acumen and market insights honed from his many years of experience in investment management.

Marc is a Swiss citizen and holds a Master of Science in Business and Economics from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He is a registered representative with MAS.

Dr Clemen Chiang
Portfolio Manager, Spiking US Blue Whale Fund

Dr Chiang is the Portfolio Manager of the Spiking US Blue Whale Fund. He is an entrepreneur and engineer by trade with expertise in launching new companies and scaling start-ups in the technology and finance sectors to profitability. Dr Chiang is also an expert in financial technology and is a trusted advisor focused on designing, developing, and executing go-to-market strategies for innovative software solutions to enable data-driven investment decision-making at scale. He is the creator of Spiking, a social trading platform able to provide real-time information on trades made by sophisticated investors to help retail investors make better investment decisions with greater confidence based on previously inaccessible market knowledge. He is also an independent director of Travelite Holdings Ltd.

Dr Chiang has a Bachelor of Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Louisville, and has a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Canberra.

Jack Chu Wenhai
Portfolio Manager, West Rain Fund

Jack is the Portfolio Manager of the West Rain Fund. He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS), with a double major in mathematics and statistics, and has also attended Columbia University’s Value Investing Course, where Warren Buffett learned valuing investing. Mr Chu has been doing value investing for more than 10 years, and has developed a system which enables him to perform in-depth research that covers factors from industry analysis, competition analysis, management and risk controls of companies to provide an understanding of the underlying businesses that the fund will enter into, as well as to allow for the control of potential investment risks.

Vivian Zhang
Equity Analyst, West Rain Fund

Vivian is an equity Analyst for West Rain Fund. She has over 10 years of investment experience covering equities, Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange, with particular focus on technology, consumer staples and healthcare industries. She is a graduate from the Munich University of Applied Sciences with a degree in Business Administration. She is also the founder of a jewellery brand, which has helped her accumulate corporate management experience. She also assists the Fund with Business Development and speak Chinese, English and German.

Alloysius Heng
Portfolio Manager - Goldstar Global Capital VCC

Alloysius is an experienced finance professional and fund manager based in Singapore, with over 25 years of experience across multiple industries. He currently serves as a Portfolio Manager of the Goldstar Global Capital VCC.

Previously, Alloysius was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Xen Capital Asia, a licensed fund management company (LFMC) he founded. Xen Capital Asia was later acquired by a global fintech firm seeking to expand its capital markets and fund management offerings in Singapore. Under his leadership, the company was licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to conduct regulated activities including Dealing in Securities, Marketing of Collective Investment Schemes (CIS), and Fund Management (LFMC), as defined by the Securities and Futures Act.

Alloysius has extensive experience in private equity, alternative investments, PE funds, fixed income, global equities, real estate funds, and pre-IPO China arrangements, among others.

Before entering the asset management space, Alloysius was the Group Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of a regional reinsurance broking group in Asia where he was responsible for the financial and operational oversight of the group for nearly a decade.

He is a Chartered Accountant (Singapore) and a Certified Practising Accountant (Australia), holding memberships with both professional bodies since 1997. Alloysius holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) and a Master of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from Griffith University, Australia. He is also a MAS-licensed representative for fund management activities.

Wu Ya-Ping
Portfolio Manager, Wealth Builder Digital Asset Growth Fund

Ya-Ping is the Portfolio Manager of Wealth Builder Digital Asset Growth Fund, where she leads the development and evaluation of investment opportunities in the U.S. while ensuring the fund’s compliance with regulatory requirements.

Previously, she specialized in corporate banking at DBS Bank and Taishin International Bank, providing financing solutions to large multinational groups such as Temasek Holdings, Alibaba Group, and leading venture capital firms. At Taishin International Bank, she managed a syndicated loan portfolio totalling over USD 16 million, serving clients in the technology, real estate, and private credit sectors to support their strategic growth and investment initiatives.

Wu holds a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master’s in International Business from Durham University, United Kingdom. She is skilled in programming, systematic investment analysis, and leveraging technology to optimize investment strategies.

Augustus Ilag
Digital Partner & Head of Asia

Augie Ilag serves as CMT Digital’s Partner and Head of Asia through a partnership with LAM & CMT.

He was previously an investor with Sequoia Capital India + Southeast Asia where he spearheaded their crypto and blockchain investments in the region. Before Sequoia, Augie was with McKinsey & Company (Manila, Philippines and Bogotá, Colombia offices) serving emerging market clients on topics spanning operations, marketing and sales, organizational design, and strategy functions.

He holds a BA and MS from Stanford University and was selected for Forbes “30 under 30 in 2022.”

Douglas Hsu
Investment Associate – APAC

Doug is an Investment Associate at Lucerne, where he focuses on investment opportunities across the Asia-Pacific (“APAC”) region.

Prior to joining LAM, Doug was part of the early team at Fireblocks, a leading wallet infrastructure company. Based in APAC, he managed enterprise accounts as part of the Global Business Solutions team. Before that, he worked as an investor at Insignia Venture Partners, a Southeast Asia-focused venture capital firm managing over $850 million in assets.

Doug holds a degree in Business from the University of Warwick. He has been actively investing in blockchain technology since 2016, reflecting a long-standing interes in the space.

Scarlett Tay
Compliance Officer

Scarlett oversees the firm’s adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies in accordance with fund management industry standards. She is committed to safeguarding investor interests and promoting a culture of ethics and accountability throughout the firm.

Prior to joining LAM, she worked in back-office operations at a fintech company in Malaysia, which provided her with a solid operational foundation. She then joined the operations team at LAM before transitioning into her current role.

With a strong understanding of financial regulations and governance, Scarlett plays an integral role in developing and implementing a robust compliance framework aligned with MAS guidelines and international best practices.

She works closely with the portfolio managers, operations teams, and senior management to ensure investment activities are conducted with integrity, transparency, and full regulatory compliance.

She holds a Bachelor of International Finance from the University Malaysia Sabah, Labuan International Campus.
